You will be invited along to one of our rehearsals to meet the choir and see and hear what we do and how we do it. We want to make sure you know the type of choir you are joining and that it suits you. If after this visit you want to join we will set a date for you to do a voice test with the Musical Director and one of the Section Leads. This may sound a little scary, but there really isn't much to it - you will be asked to sing a song of your own choice (with or without music), sing some scales (to assess your range) and take part in a short call and response exercise.
If after the voice test you are invited to join the choir, we will ask you to set up a standing order to pay a membership subscription of £20 per month and we will set up access to the Members Area of this website.
Intially you will be a Pre-Active Member of the choir, while you learn our repertoire to a sufficient standard to be able to perform. Your Section Lead will guide and help you with your learning and decide when you are ready to become an Active Member and take part in performances. The time scales involved are different for every individual, dependent on ability to learn and the time you have available to devote to the choir, it can range from a few weeks to months.
